Tom has more than 25 years of experience representing national real estate developers, financial institutions and business owners in industrial, commercial and residential real estate transactions.
Tom is well known in the Stark County community for his knowledge and experience with real estate law, title insurance matters, financing and zoning regulations. He has worked with developers with respect to large-scale commercial, residential and industrial projects, including a recent $45 million facility expansion in Stark County, Ohio. Tom also has extensive experience representing condominium and homeowner’s associations throughout northeast Ohio. Tom has experience in commercial financing, including sales and acquisitions, financing, 1031 tax exchanges, title insurance, and compliance with zoning regulations throughout northeast Ohio.
As an Ohio licensed title agent, Tom has completed extensive courses and training and has an in-depth understanding of Ohio’s property and title laws. This experience gives him a unique advantage in oil and gas real estate matters. He handles title disputes and oil and gas lease issues, including lease termination litigation, and oil and gas pipeline and eminent domain litigation. Recently, Tom was able to successfully litigate the termination of a non-productive oil and gas lease, resulting in a $1.3 million windfall for his clients.
Tom lives in Jackson Township with his wife Judge Chryssa Hartnett and their three daughters.
